The following information is about beach-access originating from Bradley Circle:
<<<The Henry Driessen Public Beach-Access Right-of-Way<<< – a “PUBLIC” Pedestrian access-gate leading to/from Driessen Beach Park (a legally dedicated public access-easement) was blocked by the Town of Hilton Head. This vital connection, from Bradley Circle to Driessen Beach Park, provided direct beach-access for over !!!+32!!! years!!!
This beach park access is the ONLY way to access the beach park from Bradley Circle; and it provides the ONLY legal means of direct ‘beach-access’ for the majority of properties on Bradley Circle.
As the Town agreed in 2003, The Access Easement “is essentially necessary for the use and enjoyment of the Beach Park”.

Property owners on Bradley Circle should contact the town’s Manager and Mayor,
to request that the community’s lawful access to DRIESSEN BEACH PARK
& this park’s priceless BEACH-ACCESS BOARDWALK is restored.
>>>The Josephine Driessen Private Beach-Access Right-of-Way>>> – is a “PRIVATE” Beach-Access Walkway/Bridge (see original reference PLAT) adjacent to ‘Sweet Grass Manor’ – that leads from ‘Bradley Circle’ to the beach and Atlantic Ocean.
This private walkway is NOT owned by the community, & a limited number of properties have a recorded ‘easement’ allowing for it’s use (listed below). At this time, just 11 properties have an associated easement that permits a home’s residents & guests to use this private beach-access walkway (see graphic). Property owners interested in obtaining a similar ‘non-exclusive’ easement can contact: easements@bradleycircle.com

F.Y.I., here are the Alternate ‘Beach-Access’ Locations:
1) The ‘Marriott Surfwatch’ beach-access boardwalk (the closest option). This walkway currently remains open to the general public. This lovely boardwalk has been recently renovated, and offers beautiful views of the saltwater wetland marsh. It also offers a “tiki-hut” restaurant close to where it connects to the beach. This walkway is located just before ‘Sandy Beach Trail’ intersects with ‘Bradley Circle’;
2) The ‘Burkes Beach Road’ public beach-access that is located at the end of ‘Burkes Beach Road’, near ‘Chaplin Park’. This beach-access is a ‘sand trail’ (with a beach-mat to allow for bikes and wheelchairs). It is safe, well-maintained, and available to the general public.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We apologize for any inconvenience as the Bradley Circle neighborhood navigates this period growth and transition.

The above ‘alternate’ beach-access walkways are located at:
- Marriott Surfwatch Beach Access (click for Google Maps geo-location) – located on ‘Sandy Beach Trail’ near the intersection with Bradley Circle (a very short walk of approximately @ 775 feet / @ 0.1 miles).
- Burkes Beach Road Beach Access (click for Google Maps geo-location) – at the end of ‘Burkes Beach Road’ – take ‘Sandy Beach Trail’ to ‘Burkes Beach Road’ and take a left (a bit further, at approximately @ 2,050 feet / or @ 0.4 miles).
If you reside in one of the properties that are colored in pink on the following aerial graphic image, the above map will help you to find these ‘alternate’ beach-access locations:
